Senior Planning Consultant

Verus Search has been retained by a leading, independent planning consultancy to appoint a Senior Planning Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing practice, working on a long-term assignment with one of Ireland’s most significant infrastructure organisations.

The Senior Planning Consultant will support the planning and delivery of a substantial multi-year capital investment programme, contributing to complex infrastructure projects within a highly regulated and operationally demanding environment. Permanently employed by the consultancy, the Senior Planning Consultant will work closely with the client’s infrastructure team under an ongoing secondment arrangement.

The Senior Planning Consultant will provide specialist statutory planning advice across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, helping ensure planning requirements, risks and timescales are fully integrated into project delivery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • At least four years’ relevant post-graduate experience within statutory planning or development management.

  • A strong record of successfully progressing projects through the planning system and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent and current knowledge of applicable Irish and EU planning legislation and policy.

  • Experience applying sound judgement to complex planning matters involving multiple technical, environmental and stakeholder considerations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • A professional town planning qualification at degree or postgraduate level, accredited by the Irish Planning Institute and/or Royal Town Planning Institute.
